Description
Real dynamic message signs for your freeways. Officers walk up to the cabinet at the base of the sign, open the door and type the message that every driver on the road will see, in amber LED dots, with flashing beacons when it matters.
The Signs
- Two original models: a roadside sign on a single pole, and a full cantilever that reaches out over the lanes
- Built from scratch with scanned galvanised steel, paint and concrete textures, with LODs for distance
- A true LED dot-matrix screen that dims at night so it never blooms out
- Twin amber roof beacons that take turns flashing and throw a real beam of light onto the road
- A detailed sign plate, conduit, banding straps and real-size bolts, so it holds up close
Ready On Your Map
- 16 signs placed across the Del Perro, Olympic, Elysian Fields, Los Santos, Palomino, La Puerta and Senora freeways, Great Ocean Highway and Davis Avenue
- Every sign stands on the drivers' right shoulder and faces the oncoming traffic it serves
- Each spot was checked in game for ground, clearance over the lanes, water and nearby structures
- Place your own with /rivosignplace, then drive past every sign with /rivosigntour to check it from the driver's seat
The Roadside Cabinet
- The cabinet door at the pole swings open on its hinges
- Inside is a working control cabinet with a controller, a modem, a thermostat, a power supply, a battery and the disconnect switch
- Open it with ox_target, or with an [E] prompt when ox_target is not running
- The door closes itself after two minutes, and stays in sync for every player
The Editor
- Up to 3 pages of 3 lines, each line in amber, white, red or green
- Left or centred text, and a timer for how long each page shows
- 21 road icons in both US and UK styles, including a speed limit with your own number
- A live preview of the sign as you type
- Presets for lane closures, accidents, fog, amber alerts, roadworks and speed limits, all editable in the config
- The last 10 messages on every sign, with one-click revert
- Timed messages that clear themselves after up to 7 days
- Set as default, so a sign goes back to your own message instead of a blank one
Permissions
- Edit by job and grade, by ACE, or both, with an on-duty check
- Groups of signs, such as a stretch of freeway, set or cleared in one go
- Give a group its own owner, so DOT runs the freeways and LSPD runs the city
- An admin ACE that edits every sign
Built Right
- Only the 8 nearest signs facing you get a live screen. Signs further out show a dark face, so it stays light on the client
- Every save is checked on the server: distance to the sign, permission and rate limits
- A word filter that sees through leetspeak, spacing and stretched letters, with alerts to staff
- Discord logs of every save, clear, revert and blocked attempt, with a queue that waits out Discord outages
- Messages survive restarts, saved to JSON or to oxmysql
- Works with Qbox, QBCore, ESX and ox_core, or standalone with no framework
Built For Developers
- Exports: setSignMessage, clearSignMessage, getSignMessage, getSignHistory, revertSign and setSignDefault
- Drive signs from your own scripts, such as dispatch, weather or events
- The config is open and fully editable
Commands
- /rivosignplace places a new sign where you stand, with an ACE permission
- /rivosigntour shows every sign from the driver's seat
Requirements
- FiveM server on game build 3788 or later (Legacy)
- ox_lib
- Optional: ox_target, oxmysql, and Qbox, QBCore, ESX or ox_core
